The speciality about this kanjivaram saree is its Patola border and the stripes on the saree. Patola is a weaving technique only mastered by special weavers and blending it with a Kanjivaram saree is a highly skilled procedure. The gold and silver zari stripes look magnificent on the Green colour. The saree’s pallav econsists of the diapered koikan pattern, known in norther India as bulbul-chasm or ‘eye of the nightingale’. 


Kanjivaram Sarees

Kanjivaram sarees are woven from mulberry silk thread and the Zari of south India, the speciality of this saree is that the border and the pallav are woven separately and later joined together. The golden lustre of the zari threads. The pallav’s colour is different in colour than that of the saree, it gives a graceful contrast. The medieval Indian literatures associated kanjivaram fabrics with gods.
